Robin Hood's Kitchen evolved as a means for people to support each other. It is a community effort working to create a sustainable food culture. Local farmers, chefs and businesses have come together to produce delicious, ready-to-eat meals for people facing food insecurity. Dishes are lovingly prepared by creating menus from local seasonal agriculture and freshly sourced vegetables. Our mission is to promote access to quality, healing foods and eliminate food waste. Robin Hood’s Kitchen is a hub through which the abundance of our community can pass and be redistributed equitably. The project is sustained by a committed volunteer effort and the generosity of neighbors. We are a fledgling non-profit working to creatively further this endeavor.

Since November 2020, we have dispensed more than 2500 lbs. of farm-to-table meals, averaging 600 meals per month through our partners in Chatham and Lee counties. We are reinvigorating community gardens to further fund our kitchen and establish beautiful and productive sanctuaries for people to connect with their food and each other.

Come join us! There is room at the table!

This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.
